"The distinctive Christian character of the school is woven through every aspect of school life and has a significant impact on the pupils’ attainment and behaviour." - Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) Report - 8th March 2017

We are delighted to have been awarded a SIAMS inspection grade of Outstanding. You can read the full report here.

Dear Sutton School Family,

As we prepare to close our school, I would like to let you know that you will all be in our thoughts and prayers until we join together again. The Local Authority are working with school leaders to create Cluster Emergency Plans. Sutton VA Lower School will be open for the early part of next week for identified pupils only. As this is not sustainable, we will move to another school where these pupils will be cared for and Sutton staff redeployed.

We will keep in touch via the school website and you can contact school staff via email:

School Office: sutton@suttonlower.co.uk

Mrs Chapman: l.chapman@suttonlower.co.uk

Teachers: suttonteachers@suttonlower.co.uk

Stay safe and well. God Bless.

The Staff, Governors and Pupils welcome you to our school website. We hope that you will find it informative and interesting. We aim to give you an insight into the organisation and the feel of our school with information about our curriculum, staff, governors, friends of Sutton School as well as up to date events and activities. We welcome visits to see the school at work – this being the best way to get a sense of the ethos of our school.

Sutton VA Lower School is a small, rural village school serving Sutton and the surrounding towns and villages. We are a Church School and have strong links to All Saints’ Church, Sutton and within the diocese of St Albans. As Values accredited, visitors often remark that we are a warm, friendly community where each member is valued with their strengths nurtured and a shared vision for aiming high in all we do.

Sutton VA Lower School is graded Outstanding by Ofsted and is a Gold Mark accredited Church of England school. We are a small, friendly school providing for Reception Year and Years 1 to 4. Our approach is based on committed value-led education. Children are currently averaging at least 20% above the government's national targets in reading, writing and maths. We welcome children from any and every background, from Sutton and all surrounding areas. All children are welcome irrespective of their faith. Our pupils come from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds.
