Our Mission Statement

To educate all children for life through inspirational, Christian focused teaching.

The Staff, Governors and Pupils welcome you to our school website. We hope that you will find it informative and interesting. We aim to give you an insight into the organisation and the feel of our school with information about our curriculum, staff, governors, friends of Sutton School as well as up to date events and activities. We welcome visits to see the school at work – this being the best way to get a sense of the ethos of our school.

Sutton VA Lower School is a small, rural village school serving Sutton and the surrounding towns and villages. We are a Church School and have strong links to All Saints’ Church, Sutton and within the diocese of St Albans. As Values accredited, visitors often remark that we are a warm, friendly community where each member is valued with their strengths nurtured and a shared vision for aiming high in all we do.

Sutton VA Lower School is graded Outstanding by Ofsted and is a Gold Mark accredited Church of England school. We are a small, friendly school providing for Reception Year and Years 1 to 4. Our approach is based on committed value-led education. Children are currently averaging at least 20% above the government's national targets in reading, writing and maths. We welcome children from any and every background, from Sutton and all surrounding areas. All children are welcome irrespective of their faith. Our pupils come from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds.
